Rate Splitting in FDD Massive MIMO Systems Based on the Second Order Statistics of Transmission Channels

چکیده

In this work, we present new results for the application of rate splitting multiple access (RSMA) to downlink (DL) a massive multiple-input-multiple-output system (MIMO) operating in frequency-division-duplex (FDD) mode. We propose statistical precoding design relying on channels’ second-order information when one-layer RS is implemented. The advantage lies simplifying precoder by basing optimization objective slowly-varying channel covariance matrices instead fast-changing instantaneous estimates. To end, use so- called bilinear precoder, which was shown Neumann et al. (2018) and Ben Amor (2020) have limited performance high SNR regime due imperfect state (CSI) available at base station (BS). formulate DL throughput maximization problem based widely used lower bound achievable sum an iterative approach solve underlying problem. Numerical demonstrate benefit implementing RS. Furthermore, proposed achieves excellent terms spectral efficiency compared state-of-the-art techniques.

Second order statistics of NLOS indoor MIMO channels based on 5.2 GHz measurements

Herein, results from measurements conducted by the University of Bristol are presented. The channel characteristics of Multiple Input Multiple Output (MIMO) indoor systems at 5.2 GHz are studied. Our investigation shows that the envelope of the channel for non-line-of-sight (NLOS) indoor situations are approximately Rayleigh distributed and consequently we focus on a statistical description of ...

Channel Feedback Based on AoD-Adaptive Subspace Codebook in FDD Massive MIMO Systems

Channel feedback is essential in frequency division duplexing (FDD) massive multiple-input multipleoutput (MIMO) systems. Unfortunately, previous work on multiuser MIMO has shown that the codebook size for channel feedback should scale exponentially with the number of base station (BS) antennas, which is greatly increased in massive MIMO systems. To reduce the codebook size and feedback overhea...

Dictionary Learning Based Sparse Channel Representation and Estimation for FDD Massive MIMO Systems

Downlink beamforming in FDD Massive MIMO systems is challenging due to the large training and feedback overhead, which is proportional to the number of antennas deployed at the base station, incurred by traditional downlink channel estimation techniques. Leveraging the compressive sensing framework, compressed channel estimation algorithm has been applied to obtain accurate channel estimation w...

Closed-form correlative coding (CFC2) blind identification of MIMO channels: isometry fitting to second order statistics

We present a blind closed-form consistent channel estimator for multiple-input multiple-output (MIMO) systems that uses only second-order statistics. We spectrally modulate the output of each source by correlative coding it with a distinct filter. The correlative filters are designed to meet the following desirable characteristics: No additional power or bandwidth is required; no synchronizatio...
